Have you made plans for a late start or early dismissal due to weather?
We encourage you to make plans now for a late start or early dismissal with your students.
Early Dismissal:
An early dismissal would take place when weather conditions worsen while we are scheduled to be at school or the weather will quickly worsen during the time of transportation in the afternoon. An early dismissal could occur at any time during the day and there is no scheduled time for early dismissals. There would be no afternoon preschool if students are dismissing early due to weather.
The district would run scheduled routes for early dismissal. If possible, students are all feed lunch before dismissing.
Late Starts
This option would be in addition to other safety measures that include full school day cancellations and/or early dismissals.
This option allows us to keep students’ safety as a top priority, while also maximizing instructional time during the regularly calendared school year.
It will provide pre-planning—generally, the night before—for a minor morning weather event.
The late start will be used when either (a) the forecast is for bad weather in the early hours of the morning, or (b) when small amounts of winter precipitation fall early in the morning and can be removed from roadways and parking lots in a short period of time.
Every school and bus route will start two hours later than usual. One breakfast option will be served and lunch will be available at the normal schedule. School will release at the normal time.
How will the 2-hour delay start affect when my child gets picked up in the morning?
● Pickup times will be approximately two hours later than normal. For example, if your child gets picked up normally at 6:58 AM, on delay start days your child will be picked up at 8:58 AM. 5) When will the doors open to the buildings?
● Doors will open 2 hours later than normal.
How does a 2 hour delay impact preschool students?
● In the event of a 2 hour delayed start, AM preschool only will be canceled. PM preschool class times will remain the same and transportation will still be provided to the school, however, please be mindful pick-up times are approximate.
Our Varsity Lady Tigers played a tough game against Steelville tonight with a final score of 65-26.
Congratulations to our JV team for taking home the win tonight with a final score of 24-7.
